If anyone hears of 2 1982 D bronze lincoln 1c coming onto the market since Mar 13, 2022..please call Detecrive Savage at the Sampson County Sheriffs dept in Clinton, NC. Thank you in advance.

Yes, I was robbed. My house was broken into. I am pretty aure who did it, just hoping they didnt spend it on cigarettes or CoinStar. If they knew what they were taking then I pray they try to sell them. They are definitely not the type to be brokering coins period.

I'm really sorry to hear that. I hope they get caught soon.
A friend a mine's house was burglarized about 8 years ago and the police told him it was probably whoever came to his mind first as a possible suspect. He and his wife thought about it, but wouldn't tell anyone because they didn't want to defame his character since they weren't 100% sure.

They were right. My friend's wife actually had the record of the serial numbers on one of the video game systems and the guy was caught trying to pawn it within 2 weeks.
I'm assuming these were raw coins, so no slabs and cert numbers? Is there any labeling/display that would have shown the thief that they were special?
I fear that a coinstar machine for cigarette money as you mentioned is highly likely unfortunately.

Again, I'm really sorry to hear that happened. I would be mortified if someone invaded my space like that.

That is a terrible thing to hear. Meow has a treasured Cat Hoard that means very much to this Cat. So much so, that if there was a fire, Meow would just sit there and go up in flames with all the Hoard. Because Meow would not be able to live without it. It is too bad there are so many bad Dogs in the world who will take what is not theirs because they can't earn it for themselves.

Sorry to hear about the burglary. What makes the two coins special? They can't be small date copper as only two have ever been found. Are they graded high? What differentiates these from the 6 billion others struck so we could tell if they are yours?

Did you have any other specific coins taken/labeled coins taken ? Have you been to all the pawn shops in your area ? If they were higher priced coins they would probably try and pawn them off for sale. Most pawn shops have cameras. Most coin shops have cameras as well. My more expensive coins all have photos of them. Including the slabbed PCGS, NGC, ANACS ones. I am sorry this happened to you. I would be sick if that happened to me.

Were you’re coins large or small dates? Do you have any pics? As @expat said, only 2 82-D copper small dates have ever been authenticated. However, the Denver mint struck BILLIONS of 1982 large date copper cents.

If ANY 1982-D copper SD were to come to market, it would be a huge deal in numismatics. There would be press releases from the authenticating TPG, articles in the hobby publications, and a lot of PR from the auction house should it be sold

I’m sorry about the robbery. It must be difficult, especially if you feel you know the person who did it.

Moo, Woof, and Oink hope Meow gets out of the house with her cat hoard. Moo keeps his cow hoard at the dairy; woof buried his.
