Ten years ago I gave my grandson an old worn half slick Morgan. I remember that year I gave a Morgan to all my grandkids, nieces and nephews…… Well the bug hit my grandson and now he is a full blown coin-o-holic and makes his grandad proud so I had to show a little bit of his collection to the community…… So keep planting those seeds. You never know when one will take root.
Way to go Randy! I hope that I plant that seed with my kids. I think the first 2 are sprouting nicely. What a great bunch of gold, too! Jealous!
And I didn’t give him gold until today. I brought him a slightly bent gold dollar with an interesting story….. But he has bought all that himself with his minimal earnings.
Wow....Randy ...the pusher man....lol... getting a kid hooked on coins.....WTG! It is such a great sight at a show with kids, and grand kids sharing the hobby. Making memories that no one could ever put a price on.....
Randy, what an encouraging post to read. Not only are you bonding with a grandchild, but you're providing continuing life for our hobby. I couldn't get my daughters interested in numismatics, but I have hopes for the grandchildren.
You're blessed. I really, really wish I could show my grandparents some of the coins I have now. They did a lot to encourage my interest in the hobby fifty-odd years ago. It was a very long fuse, but it never quite went out.
When grandpa tells good stuff about a grandkid it isn't bragging, it's expected and necessary. Tell us all you like. I think grandkids are special.
Here is my 4-year-old great grandson. He thought this little girl needed a little attention and appreciation.
