These southern cities were members of the Aeolian League: Temnos, Smyrna, Pitane, Neonteichos, Aegirusa, Notium, Cilla or Killa, Kyme (also called Phrikonis), Gryneum, Larissa, Myrina, and Aegae. Several of these cities were known for learning, culture and arts. Kyme, modern-day Nemrut Limanı, is one of the oldest Aeolian cities north of the Hermus river on the western coastline of Asia Minor. Its large port was a maritime asset for the Persian Empire, contributing ships to Dareios (512 BC) and to Xerxes (480 BC). After the Battle of Salamis, the remnants of Xerxes' fleet wintered at Kyme. After Persia, Aeolis was held successively by the Macedonians, Seleucids, Pergamenes, Romans, Byzantine, and Ottomans. Have been searching quite a while for a reference of magistrates' names on AEs from Kyme, and today I finally found one in Revue Numismatique, 1986, 28, Olivier Masson, Monétaires de Kymé d’Éolide, which is available on persee.fr and I am glad to share: http://www.persee.fr/doc/numi_0484-8942_1986_num_6_28_1884 I had found one at the Ashmolean Museum with the same magistrate name on the obverse but a different monogram on reverse (ID: SNGuk_0509_1333) but I am unable to retrieve it again.. don't know why. The magistrate I was looking for is ΘΕΥΔΑΙTHΣ (on p. 59) and this is the coin: Kyme, Aeolis, 350 - 250 BC 10 x 11 mm, 3.713 g SNG Copenhagen 69-86; BMC 40 – 52; Ob.: KY, Protome of galloping horse to r., magistrate ΘΕΥΔΑΙTHΣ Rev.: Oenochoe - one-handled drinking cup; monogram EY (inverted) for second magistrate probably EYBIOS or EYNIKOΣ in left field Please share your Kyme coins

Thank you for sharing that article, @cmezner - I have a low-grade Kyme with a mystery magistrate I may now have some chance of finding. Here it is - very hard to see the lettering, but I made out a few - as you can see from my attribution, I ran into some difficulties: Aeolis, Kyme Æ 15 (c. 350-250 B.C.) Magistrate ... ermesila..?
