Check out this craziness. http://cgi.ebay.com/1914-D-Lincoln-...mQQptZCoins_US_Individual?hash=item1c10a7e305 also what do you think about this one? http://cgi.ebay.com/1914-D-YOU-BE-T...&otn=2&po=LVI&ps=63&clkid=8290836439540178508
I'd say the chances are slim that this is legit. There would have to be evidence other than the date for authentication. Even then, without a date, it wouldn't be worth much.
Yeah, I like the first one....throw a little laundry detergent on the key diagnostic areas and call it fine. Guy~
Actually, I wish I would have bought that 1914D one. It'd be a fun conservation project because it looks primarily like contact verdigris. While it looks to be heavy verdigris, it also appears to be lightly adhered. I think I'd rather have $37 in my wallet. LOL
I hate how people tak advantage of people like me who are just not that educated and take away there hard earned money. I guess the people who buy this mess should do a litle more research before buying this stuff but I hate that you just cant trust people any more. When my dad was a kid, a handshake and some ones word was all it took and you knew it was legit. Now you have to check and check and check and still wonder if you are getting ripped off.
Just what the world has come to. You have to be educated on everything, and many people can still be trusted but there are the select few that ruin it for others.
I know, it just stinksthat it has to be like that. It just makes it so hard for the good people of the world to sell things online because no one trusts them and for people to buy things online because they dont trust anyone. It is just like beating your head against a wall. :desk:
In case anyone was wandering what the chaacteristics of a legit 1914-D is. 1. No VDB 2. Die crack from rim to bottom of coat at 3rd fold in coat 3. The inside of the D should be slightly angled
I'm pretty sure that "going green" is not the thing to do when collecting altered 1944-D Lincoln cents. This piece of garbage should have been reported long before time ever ran out!
This seller is one of the ones who put an Indian cent and a Steel cent at the ends of a roll and fill it with junk and get 12-25 bucks for it. People are buying this crap everyday too.
