I've gotten this coin a long time ago from a religious group thing my parents used to go to.

It has a picture of Ganesha on the front and some symbol on the back, with the words 999 Bombay on the sides. I'm guessing 999 is .999 silver? What is it and how much would it be worth?

yes. Hes sure. From those pictures it looks like a circulated round of aluminum, maybe worth about .04 cents.

Ouch! well, you can tell if it is silver vs. aluminum by holding it on your finger and tapping it with another coin like a dime. If it makes a nice ringgggggg sound, it is silver. If it sounds like clink, it is aluminum. If you took another picture next to another coin like a dime, the size would be easier to distinguish. Is there a date on the coin? If so, what is it?
