I never did understand ACG. They handed out really strong grades on modern coins but were more on target with classic coins, sometimes. The coin looks really nice.
Put a P before the CG add an S at the end, and you might have a valid grade. Sorry, just my opinion, thanks for sharing and good luck.
I have but one coin in an ACG holder and it's at least two, likely three grades UNDERgraded...! On this, will go PF66...but a wild guess given ACG and what it might grade today if from one of the top two.
Hey @Hommer I have seen a few of these slabs in the past and didn't think that they were all that bad. Can you get some better strait on photos. It would be nice to see the mirrored surfaces. Hopefully you bought it for a 65/66 price.
No chance at all for a 66. The mirrors are dull. I’ve only submitted at most 100 of the 53’s so my opinion is limited.
The mirrors are far from dull, why it is so hard to get a photo that isn't washed out. It is absolutely pristine as well with no blemishes. I'm not home now but took a photo with my bride's phone before I left, It is below. I bought this coin several years ago, probably 6 or more, at auction from Great Collections. Can't remember what I gave for it, I have all of the proof Washingtons but one, and will hopefully add it someday as well
GreatCollections does not deal with that grading company. This texture in the fields is what I’m referring to. Looks like the moon.
Does it really matter who I bought it from? You go ahead and see what ever you want there buddy, do you own one, or this one once?. You act like I'm trying to dupe you, I pulled a box of coins out that I haven't seen in at least 5 years and thought that I would show a couple. I posted another Accugraded coin in another thread before this one, don't let that one upset you as well. I had 5 other graded proof coins in that box as well, PCGS and NGC graded and all are boring, every one will eventually be broken out of the plastic and displayed with their relatives.
I own a bunch buddy gottem laying all over the place as it’s my series. I don’t care who you bought it from Pal but GreatCollections does not sell coins from that company as you stated. Posting a GTG with the correct answer being that of a tpg label which is routinely 3-4 graded off is poor form. There’s nothing wrong with a 65, yet you seem defensive. I don’t drink the Kool Aide as I’m comfortable grading them myself.
