Does accidentially sending the coins in your jeans pocket through the extra-heavy wash cycle--constitute coin cleaning?
That's a good one. I have been amazed sometimes how well change left in my pocket comes out looking. If I did it on purpose I'm sure I would not be so lucky.
Good one Krispy. But - yes it does could as cleaning. The coins come out shiny, but some of the luster is gone.
Nope - with paper money it has stayed in my pocket and the change always comes out of the pocket and ends up in the washer.
Just spotted this thread and (without reading further) Krispys answer immediately came to mind...day late and a dollar short. :smile What is it with us New York types? :goofer:
I have noticed that coins left in a pocket of a pair swimming trunks or at the bottom of a heavily chlorinated pool certainly shine up real nicely. Summer is coming up so..... Technically this wouldn't be money laundering. :mouth:
Nope, you're right, if a pool is involved, that would be dipping, a usually 'accepted' form of coin cleaning.
