Conrad H. Kuchler of SOHO engraved a cuirassed draped bust of George III that got a lot of use over the years (even after Kuchler's death in 1810.) It appears on a 1798 "Victories of the Year" medal (BHM 458), an 1801 medal for the Union of Ireland and Great Britain (BHM 524), an 1820 medal for George III's death (BHM 991) and the Hudson's Bay Company Indian Peace medal (BHM 1062) around the same time.
I'm always looking for that "white elephant" in my search for exonumia . . . . Well, I finally found one. Z
Here's a few Tokens from my collection. The first four are shown on the Church of Good Luck website and those are htf!
My parents received this from my brother, all now deceased I’ve been using it as my avatar for some time https://coinquest.com/cgi-bin/cq/coin
I've got some wonderful new additions - Daniel Carr, Ron Landis & Bryan Money! We've got a Moonlight Mint engraved old Coin Feeder from their formerly US Mint - Denver, Clark, Gruber & Company Coin Press courtesy of the marvelous Daniel Carr. We've got the "Steampunk" Octopus collection - the 1oz, 2oz and 3oz silver medals from Ron Landis's Studio (bought on his birthday special and came with a nice handwritten note on the finish from Timothy!) and then a Gorham silver medal and pewter / lead medal from the 1896 William Jennings Bryan vs. William McKinley presidential campaign, these were made to disparage Bryan's push to move from strictly a gold standard to a gold and silver standard backing US currency. All in all I'm so happy I've got these pieces!
Here's the last for awhile, another hodge podge page! The Queen Token on the bottom has a finger print on it but I learned awhile back not to try to remove it or I'll be sorry!
1972 Yellowstone First National Park Heraldic Art Medal A bit more scarce issue. In the early 70's I visited Yellowstone National Park after spending about a month living with some Native American cowboys in Broadus Montana. They took us to a wedding with hundreds of Crow Indians. A party indeed because I woke up next day with hazy recall due to the party in the great outdoors. My friend and I took an unannounced and unauthorized trip around the US as teenagers. I drove a truck hauling away garbage and returned with fresh water in jugs and he found a part time mechanic job in a garage in that tiny town. Our boss owned everything in town. Resteraunt, gas station, grocery store and bar. We got ripped off for our pay. So we pulled out of town and headed to Yellowstone. I remember Old Faithful and although amazing, it wasn't my favorite. I liked the smell of sulphur in the air. The hot springs and mud volcanos. Blup blup blup bubbles of mud. I remember the big waterfall we saw from a lookout. I actually don't recall seeing any bears but I'm sure they were around. Then it was off to Washington State. Wish I had more interest in General Custer and Lewis & Clark. From Seattle it was all the way down the Pacific Coast to San Diego our furthest point from home in PA. What a neat ride. An awesome summer, but a pretty tight budget.
