Hey everybody, I know this isn't the BIG 1969S variety, I can't find info on this, maybe it's nothing, but it sure looks like something, I am just not sure. Input is greatly appreciated! As mentioned above, this is machine doubling.

+1 MD 1969 s had a good size mintage, and the dies were worked hard...thus quite a few cents that show strong machine doubling that confuse many for the ddo. Keep searching

A helpful hint for future searching. Up to 1990 the mintmark was hand punched into the created die. Therefore, if you see similar "doubling" on die and mintmark, you can be pretty sure it is the result of machine doubling

Machine or mechanical or strike doubling= NAV. (no added value). ;)

Seeing doubling on the mint mark AND the date, means it was MD.

Ahh, okay, good to know. I read the documentation and it said if mint mark and date appeared doubled, it is not the BIG 1969 DDO, but I didn't know that meant for every penny. Thank you both, another lesson learned. I would be so proud just to fine ONE DDO, a real one. I love pennies.

Hard to find a Doubled Die in the wild but a lot easier to find an RPM. I always look for them!!!

Hi and welcome to CT. Start your own thread and include clear, focussed images and close up of the areas you want evaluating. Make sure you click the Full Image option for all images as the default thumbnails are not sufficient.
