I have difficulty with the DDO's and DDR's that are indicated only by thickness of the letters, numbers, etc. I found this today and it is probably the closest that I have seen to what a DDR of a 1936D may be. The letters in E PLURIBUS UNUM seem to be wider from top to bottom and the dots between the words are elongated from top to bottom. Any help please.

    Hi,
J.T. has some info on this type of doubling. Check out ClassVI. This is also a great page explaining the process of doubled die creation. Go To:http://www.coin-gallery.com/cgstanton3.htm
    Have Fun,

    Looks like die deteriorization doubling.

I don't think so. Usually with deterioration the edges are not as well defined. The edges on a deterioration usually show a smeared effect. This could be a doubled die. I particularly like how the dot is elongated and appaers to be oval.

Thats what leads me to believe it is Class VI doubling. The dot is more oval than round. That's a good sign :)
