A 1999 D Pennsylvania quarter. There is no copper visible on the edge. I have this high hope its a silver planchette but might be plated.
    But
Why would someone go thru all the trouble to plate it if they were just going to spend it?
Yeah, I’m trying to convince myself .

    Plated. ;)

Many were plated in gold & silver for sets.

It has been since 1964 since Denver made a silver quarter. The thought would be how did a silver planchet get into the hopper, if the facility hadn't seen a silver Q planchet in 35 years?

Thanks for the responses, even the sarcastic one from Pickin.

I can see it taken that way, Pick'in though was more of a reference to cherry picking coins. I won't deny that I am am onery sometimes.

There were silver planchets in 1999
Yours is a business strike from Denver and is plated.
You can weigh it to confirm. ;)

I like the way it is toning especially the reverse. Even though it is plated it's a nice coin. Thanks for sharing.
