Cash Coin from China...I could be wrong but the large one is probably fake. I was given one just like it for my birthday. It wasnt sold as real but as a fake. Again, I could be wrong as I know very little about these.
Cash Coins I don't know a whole lot about these either but do have a few of them in my collection. Here's a link that might help ID those coins... http://www.history.ucsb.edu/faculty/roberts/coins/index.html ....hope this helps!
Both coins are modern machine-made fakes. All Chinese cash coins prior to the late 19th century were cast, not machine made. The smaller one has a Ming legend on the obverse - Zheng De Tong Bao. According to Hartill, no coins were issued with this reigb title, only amulets. The reverse has a Qing mint mark - Boo Chiowan - Board of Revenue Beijing. The larger coin has the Qing obverse legend Qian Long Tong Bao.
Zheng de tong bao charms (amulets) have been very popular with the Chinese since Ming times. For those interested, additional information and several old examples of these charms can be seen here. Gary
