I bought the coin last year and expected to be able to go back and collect all the rest. But once I jumped on the mint gravy train: Lincoln silver dollar, state quarters, UHR, Kennedy halves, Presidential rolls, I didn't have a chance or money to go back and attempt to finish the series. So I sold it off. Will I regret it? Oh yeah I made about $50 in the deal.
Sorry to hear you sold your coin. I can see how it would be hard to finish that series. I would like to pick up a few some day. I would love to have the Martha coin and one with the Liberty obverse.
I also bought the Jefferson Liberty coin and it's next on the list to be sold off I'm afraid. It's the last spouse coin I have.
I would try to keep the Jefferson Liberty if possible. That is a beautiful classic coin design that truly shines in gold (especially the proof). I am not sure if interest in this series will ever increase, but if it does my guess is that people will want the Liberty coins regardless of fact that they have higher mintage numbers than later issues in the series. TC
No worries. While the mintage is low for all of these pieces, the collector base is also low. Overall, they should remain relatively inexpensive for the foreseeable future, so if you change your mind in 5-10 years, you should be okay.
TopCatCoin, I agree that of all the spouse designs I've seen, that one stands out for the design in my book. I'm starting to feel persuaded to hold on to it.
The I's have it. I will keep it as long as I don't lose my job and need to sell it to buy bread for my family.
We feel you there, do what you have to do, its touugh times for a lot of people. You can always buy the coin later on down the road when things are more stable, and the economy is in a better shape.
