Walking down the road "tra la la", "oh look, what's this", gasps, "a crusty Roman Coin". "tra la la".... Some people are just lucky to live in places where ancients coins are just laying around on the ground like Lincoln cents here in America.
Except our Lincoln cents would have corroded into nothingness 1,000 times over in the length that that coin has been the ground.
...yeah...the way they are making them now, pennies dropped at the mailbox on the ground dissolve into nothingness in a very short space of time...months..
Hey, it's important to keep the velocity of money up, and what better way than "spend it quick before it spoils"? I mean, the Roman Empire made durable coins, and look where they are now!
