I was just wondering if anyone has seen a RPM for a 1951 D like this one. It is a D over D. Any idea as to its value. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Ben PS (I have 7 more rolls to go through wish it was 700)
I have a Cherry pickers book but there is no DD like this in there for the 51 D. Coiuld this be a new error or some Kind of mechanical doubling??
I don't think it's mechanical doubling - looks like an RPM to me. New ones are found all the time. There are quite a few listed on CONECA for this date and mm - check them out for additonal diagnostic clues found on the coin. CLICK HERE Then you'll know if you have a new one or not.
It looks like a 1951-D RPM-001, at least it looks very much like the photo in my RPM book. Here's a link to the entry on this variety at Coppercoins.com: http://coppercoins.com/lincoln/diestate.php?date=1951&die_id=1951d1mm001&die_state=mds
