    Hello One & All,
I've been 'cobbling' together an extended 'short Set' of walkers now for the last 5 or so years. (1938-1947 complete set MS-65 White is pushing my budget limits)
I'm now down to the nut-cutting' and have been having a devil of a time finding a nice
39-S,40-S or 41-S. The ones offered lately are either toned, partially toned or found with
small or not so small black spots. eBay has been my primary source for my search.
Last week I finally found a 41-S that fit my specifications. A bit pricey as probably be expected for any of these 3 dates & mintages but at least another difficult 'hole' filled.
    Check it out.
    Cheers, J.T.

What other auctions have you checked? I'll keep my eyes open and let you know if I spot any you might wish to consider. Good luck.

My short set is only short the 41-S currently and I am after the same thing you are. I only have blast white coins in the set. I have this coin on a few dealers "want lists" and I keep looking as well.

    Hello BuffaloHunter,
By using eBay exclusively for my set I guess I'm limiting my search perimeter. I decided to extend the usual 'Short Set' to include all mintages from 1938-1947.
Reason being, that in my wild and wooly days (still working), I purchased a nice example of the 1938-D walker in MS-65. This was 12 years before I decided to complete the set. I also purchased a nice 1916-D in MS-64 but that's because I wanted an example of the 1st year. At that time, I was lucky to be able to go on and purchase a White 1916 STL FH quarter in MS-63 before my coffers ran dry. I DO realize how lucky I am & so far remain.
Good luck to fulfilling your dream set,
    J.T.

We have two sets of VF and better Walkers 1916 -1947 it took us over 6 years to complete. I definitely know what you are going through but in the end your satisfaction is guaranteed. Good luck!

I’ve been looking for 7 plus years for a few specific coins in a certain grade. Be patient and the right coin will come along.

The 1939, 1940 and especially the 1941 San Francisco minted Walking Liberty Half Dollars are very difficult in the higher grades, especially if one wants a decent or better strike. I have the series from 1938-1947, many in MS-66, but these three are in MS-65. At some point I came to realize that these are quite beautiful enough.

    Hello erscolo,
My financial status would not allow an MS-66 set, so I've been pleased to be able to get this far in all White MS-65's. (Still need San Fran. '39 & '40) Such a great design in just about all grades, but especially nice in 'gemmy' condition. I'm sure the CT members would enjoy seeing a few pics of your set, if available.
    All the best,
    J.T
