In the near future I am going to start posting a new section I call "Fake or not Fake". It will deal with Artificially toned coins and the real thing. I am hoping to get expert opinions on this subject and give out warnings to others who would buy these worthless coins. I hope to also learn more about the subject(I am sure from the people on here I will) and put out a list of sellers who you should watch out for. See you soon Jessie
Sounds like a great idea. I will not nor have I ever bought specific coins because I like their toning. I dont dismiss them, but if I had a toned coin in front of me, and a BU example of the same coin, Im grabbing the BU in a second. Secondly, I refuse to acknowledge any seller who feels they are in the position to demand a premium for a coin that is toned. In fact I walk away from them and will never visit their store or table again if they try to pull that stunt with me. I have never seen a Grey sheet listing for toned coins so i wont acknowledge the prices in the least. Its because of greedy sellers who feel toned coins are worth primo bucks, is why the idiots are out there artificially toning them up by any means possible.
Sounds like a great idea. Here's one seller one eBay that routinely sells AT crap. eBay My World - mel-ko
Holey crow...theres no way in the world any seller would have in their pocession, all those toned coins at once, and ready to sell on ebay. All the toning looks the same ,,same pattern so its got to be a home made job. What do they do? Sulpher and coins in the oven at the same time?
Jessie, you might read this thread from a while back to see what might be ahead. http://www.cointalk.com/t61436 Jim
That's funny! You quoted this guy a link of a thread created by the very guy he seems to be upset at, although IMHO I have read several responses defending Rigo by several of our most respected members and I would trust in their judgment that Rigo is an upstanding dealer.
Here's another one that has ALL these nice, AT'ed coins for your viewing pleasure....http://shop.ebay.com/cwbyup1051/m.html?LH_PrefLoc=0&_dmd=1&_in_kw=1&_ipg=50&_sop=12&_rdc=1
Lets all keep in mind that the only reason the 'game' of 'Fake or Not Fake' is being 'played' is due to the OP's recent banning on another forum. He's taking his crusade here, against another forum member, and apparently, he's smearing a seller that appears to be in good standing....read about it here....http://www.cointalk.com/t95740/ I've never dealt with the seller, so I don't speak from experience, but it seems to be that the OP is just mad at the member and is throwing a child-like fit. While it would be a cool thing to do, the backstabbing reason the OP wishes to do this, is un-cool. Besides, who in their right mind would attack a moderator of a coin forum, and think he/she wouldn't get tossed? If Speedy, or Doug, or any of the other mods here were attacked, I would imagine the attacker wouldn't be posting here any longer.
Well lets see some coins. I personally really like toned coins and look forward to learning more about them.
Hello NotSure :eating: I'm Rigo and I just want to say that you hit the nail on the head. I have no worries of this person "trying" to smear my name. I have nothing to hide.
