Yes, I received the message and ignored it.
    $95.00 kinda high for that.

Coins with scuffs or other issues in focal areas: melt
    Enamel paint: a few bucks
Turning problem coins into "colorized" issues at your convenience: priceless!

It doesn't look too bad, not as bad as some of the other Mints in other countries! :D

Indeed agree...not bad for a "colored" coin...not gaudy but tasteful, subtle and modest. That said, am aware it may start out this way but get worse and am totally against colored/coloring official U.S. coins, by/from anyone or entity. Just me, IMO.

Don't get messages from the US Mint anymore and they don't get any from me.

I agree, I wouldn't buy one but like you said, the colored part is subtle and modest! I hope it ends there, but unfortunately I think it depends on their sales of this coin! :D Time will tell!

I can feel 'the love' coming forth in this thread. devil.gif

Any-who, I bought one. Gotta try and keep the 'moderns' up to date. :)

Purchased mine at noon ET. Could not have been faster. I suspect no demand.

I admire your dedication to the series. I, too, have a sizeable stable of modern commem's but just don't have the budget to play in that sandlot any more.

Question - the colorized coin is a proof, right?

It don't say. Looks 'burnished' by the photogs.

I bought it because it represents something that so many vets have done. I will donate mine to the Milwaukee VA Hospital.

Current US Mint products get a resounding NO from me. IMO they shot the goose that laid the golden egg many years ago.

The idea was great, it’s probably actually the thing that should have the colorization the most. That said as I’ve said before, it’s a depressing design with the blinding brain injury. I know that’s the subject but it could have been done better.
