eBay doesn’t work like that They don’t believe in products like unsearched rolls. They will ask you if you are not happy with your purchase and if you’re not happy you may send it back. period. No “not as described”.
A loaf of bread and Barbara Eden rolling in the hay. Am I missing something here? Unless it's, What do these two things have in common? " What are two things I really, really like? "
To me it looks like a bad mintmark, the S isn't right. That's not hard, make the claim...You Win. You don't have to prove anything, just make the claim and they'll accept it.
It's really not that simple despite what people pay on coin forums. Does the buyer have a big advantage yes they do, but unless a seller has automatic returns set up they can fight it. Account histories will come into play and sometimes eBay will just eat the cost themselves, or at least they used to but unless there's been a massive change I suspect the people that think its automatic with a couple clicks havent sold on eBay much or bothered to make phone calls when there's an issue.
You may be right, but I've never seen any posts from anyone who has ever said they had a SNAD claim denied
Such a post would be basically admitting they were trying to pull a scam or at the very least was in the wrong. It's not easy for a seller to win those but it can be done if all it was was someone searching stuff and trying to return it. It's a lot easier for a seller to win on graded coins if they dont do a lot of marketing hype in the description.
I'm pretty sure I've seen exactly that here, but I don't remember enough detail to be able to track down the post. It was a pretty convincing story, enough to make me reconsider my own "Buyer Protection is absolute for the righteous" attitude.
I'll 'fess up. I ordered one of those monocular camera thingies on e-bay that said "new". It had a picture of the item out of the box, and the box. I honestly assumed the little tripod was in the box since he said it was "new". When I got it, the tripod wasn't there, so I did a SNAD. The seller sent me an angry message about why couldn't I look at the photo? I responded to why he listed it as new if it weren't complete...I got my money back.
I've never had any of mine denied. The only time any were even questioned was when the claim was made after the time deadline, and even then each of those was accepted.
