    I think lithography & Lasar etched plates are the way of the future,only a few countries are left engraving by hand in steel plates.Engraverers are still engraving in the old style on guns/shotguns...etc
    Their are schools teaching engraving in the old way see this linkof video of a engraver ,engraving a Zippo Lighter in the video.
