Poppin cherries left and right! How cool is this? I would say very, very. And does that wrapper work for you Mother Hens? They are 1958 D 20220321_215950.jpg 20220321_215950.jpg

Wrapper seems about right... always know that vintage wrappers are VERY easy to get!

    Awesome fun roll eh?! Nice!
Looks like you've got some lovely uncirculated in there and if that's a blank planchet then that's a few free bucks in theory

1958 D has an incredibly rare doubled die to watch for! ;)

Also something to think about while you learn how to judge grades...the regular 1958 D...
MS66 PCGS graded is only $22
MS67 PCGS graded is $275 - MS67 is darn exceptional!!!

Oh but the hunt is addictive lol...even after 40 something years :woot:

    Lucky you, finding a planchet in a fresh 1958-D roll. . .

Ok i do understand what you are saying but
Ikr? But lets take the 1955 S graded MS68 red by pcgs. Under 20x the magnification mine looks waaaay better than that one. No spots, luster even on high spots, no carbon spots, just a couple light scratches, not deep or severe, cartwheel effect, etc. One thing it is lacking is a detailed obverse image. Like his beard has no definition. But im not sure if that is due to LDS or of its just a common characteristic of early pennies. Because if it was wear then the sheen would be the first thing to go. I swear my mouth dropped when I saw what they gave a 68.

You're getting yourself to a whole other level lol!

Yup...when you get up in the past MS66 range the quality of the strike starts to become much more important...as do some other things, the rims, the EYE APPEAL, clarity of those fields under 3x magnification...

it's a fun tough year because there are a whole heck of a lot of very nice 1958 Ds graded and not :shame:

Look at the difference between 66 and 67...it's dramatic! Like the Richter Scale https://www.pcgs.com/photograde#/Lincoln/Grades

Okay, what am I missing? The full image photo I can't even tell it is a US cent. Why was it circled? Why didn't you post a better photo with the background removed?
Nice to get a roll of shiny older cents, but those can be easily had. I just acquired this:

And I have a ton of those old coin wrappers.

Not trying to put you down Kristine, you know I support you, but am I really missing something?

    Yes.
Big time, even when the circled item was identified in the thread. Sorry that I'm :troll: coming off as a KIA :bookworm: but consider this an :angelic: reply. I didn't think I :troll: had it in me.:D

Thats their basic standards. But from what I understand is that alot of experts if a 67 and 66 were places side by side they would have a hard time differentiating between them! It is such a subjective topic. Curious though, do graders know whose coin it is that they are grading? Cuz that would leave way to play favorites.

upload_2022-3-23_19-54-9.png For any others who miss things and know who you are...go look up all the different meanings of a circle with a dot. :D:yawn:

Then again, this could represent a cent PLANCHET within a circle.
