1982d quarter DDO quarter

    Even on a closeup, I see no doubling -- Could you provide clearer images? (More specifically to spots you think you see the doubling most clearly)

    The important sentence in the Wexler page regarding this coin is as follows
    Comments: Since the doubling is on the master die all 1982-P, 1982-D, and 1982-S Washington quarters will have this doubling. Apparent differences from coin to coin may result due to working hub wear, working die wear, and wear to the coins.

    For this type of doubling, I think that the subject coin would need to be in a generally uncirculated condition and EDS to make out the subtle details shown by Wexler. Die wash around the devices, where evidence of doubling was spotted, would get progressively worse on the working dies obscuring attributing details. Each rehubbing might bring back some of the detail. But I would imagine, less so than the initial hubbing of the working die.
