What is the most commonly over graded coin type by everyone including dealers, and TPGS. I have my opinion of the top two over graded types - by far. One gold and one silver. First, I'd like to read your opinions.

I'll hit this even harder with a coin type that is CONSTANTLY overgraded.. I find large cents as a whole, generaly those below MS are regularly overgraded compared to any other coin.. Then again, just getting a clean grade on a Large Cent is a minor miracle :D To be honest I find LC grading across all 4 top TPG to be extremely inconsistant.. the same coin seen by all 4 would likely get 4 completely different grades...

By percentage of population being overgraded, 1804 dollars are a clear winner.

I can't agree with that one because it is balanced out by the 80s 81s and 82s morgans being consistantly undergraded

Large Cents and Half Cents if you compare TPG grades to EAC grades.

+1 on the St. Gaudens , but I'll slide over to the Morgan's for the silver piece of the question.

I would guess both are early types generally. I find turban head gold and flowing hair silver to be given the benefit of the doubt both on grade and cleaning more often than other coins.

Only other guess would be indian quarter and half eagles. The incuse design is simply hard to adjust to for grading. Unless I am looking at a bunch of them, its hard for me to switch mentality to grade them properly.

My thoughts on this subject are Morgan Dollars and St. Gaudens double eagles.

Saints for Gold is one guess.....for silver, I don't think it's Morgans as there is a balance between overgraded and undergraded (like @mrweaseluv mentioned)....I'll agree with another poster and guess Barber Halfs
