I have my eye on three coins at the upcoming Roma sale. Only one of which I am likely to be competitive for, but I’ll be watching the other two just in case the Russian oligarchs are preoccupied elsewhere…
Announcing an auction on a discussion board is a great way to remind the oligarchs (and everybody else) to keep their heads up....
I thought he won't be allowed to get anything from that sale? Maybe he will trade his super yacht that is floating around off the coast of Turkey with no place to dock?
There's nothing I'm tremendously interested in at this Roma, but it will be interesting to see if the sanctions have any affect on some of the higher priced coins.
@savitale Absolutely participating: currently i have about 10 coins on the watch list, 90% Greek Tetradrachms 2 Nero denarii that i previously kept an eye on - a bit higher than I was expecting for them to go
I placed my bids, have been outbid in the pre-floor auction, so that is that. Tax time this year is really limiting my ability to participate. Also, I didn't find any coins that I really need in this auction.
Sorry to hear that. I usually take that same approach but this time I want to try live bidding. Probably won’t matter, but we’ll see.
The ruble doesn't go nearly as far as it used to these days. No Roma for me this time. But I have a few coins in tomorrow's CNG auction on my watch list. I won't specify which ones!
