I want that feeling you got about coins. I remember when I got a full roll of silver quarters (and a 65) in a CWR of of quarters
LOL I don't think so. The knowledge and ease of how ya'll just know so many different factors and aspects is so impressive. I just sit back in awe as I read all of you guys comments to my posts. Some of you have a great sense of humour and have me chuckling. Then others that have me hitting Google, my books, looking up books to read/order and adding another informative website to my bookmarks. As I learn and build my personal (sentimental not of any other value) collection and the collections of my great nieces -it is from all of your input that helps me to do this. I so enjoy the hunt, ridiculously enjoy it LOL, and I so enjoy sitting down at my desk to turn on my laptop and see what Cointalk has brought to my alerts and inbox today. I try to get to every single reply and read and learn from it. I really do appreciate ya'll and I press that like button to acknowledge your time and effort. as much as I enjoy coins, Coin talk is also become part of my CRH that I enjoy immensely. So glad that I stumbled upon this site. So glad to talk with y'all. and yes I am in awe
thanks. i just really research the sellers and pour through their reviews one by one. Seriously every single one. i don't go off just their rating alone. alot of them i now converse with them via email. i have a handful that are my go to and i try a bid on Ebay just for the fun of it sometimes. i like getting the penny boxes from different parts of the country. I hit up my friends and talk to the owners of local businesses.
ATTN CRH: Several opinions offered on these pages are all very good ways to find coins. Today we got rained out at the golf course and my banker called me while on my way home and ask me to stop by the bank that she had a Suprise for me. In the past I have left my business card with her asking her to call me when someone turned in "Self Wrapped" coins. I have had very good luck with this lady and today was by far the best day of all. I got to the bank and she was standing there smiling at me as I walked in. After a few pleasantries she ask me if I still wanted any coins turned in by other customers, of course I said yes. About two hours before I got the call a young man came in with SEVERAL bags of coins. Unfortunately there were three bags of Quarters and half dollars that the bank manager said had to be turned in for counting(meaning they are now out of reach for purposes of CRH) She then pulled a cart from behind the desk and ask me if I was sure I wanted them that there is a considerable amount of money in rolls, of course was my response. The young man had an aunt that had just passed away and she left everything to him. I just purchase 27rolls of half dollars($270.00) $830.00 quarters, $805.00 in dimes$82.50 in pennies. (I got a hernia carrying them up the steps to my office). Of course when I did get them spread out on two tables, I started giving them a once over. I opened one roll of halves (4 pre 64) (4 pre 70) the rest a mix. I then opened a roll of dime and when I dumped them on the table ALL 50 WERE 90% SILVER Roosevelt, Mercury and a couple of worn barbers. The lesson here: MAKE FRIENDS WITH YOUR BANKER. Mine is going to be treated to the best dinner I can possibly arrange for her and her boyfriend. I have taken pics and if I can get them into the computer I will forward a shot. Semper Fi Phil
