My Family all came from Portugal, I have been thinking about starting a collection.. Yours are very nice.. I even worked on a Tuna boat as a Kid.. LOL

It is my opion that the 10 Reis minted for the Azores is one of the more striking coins in my collection. Not to mention that the Azores is a very unique and interesting place
I guess thats probably true, it was just a part of Portugal. It was settled by all type from all over and changed hands a bit but from the mid 1600's they were a part of the Portuguese empire. It wasnt until 1976 when it became the Autonomous Region of the Azores which was still technically one of the Autonomous regions of Portugal...thus a part of Portugal.
