I picked up a whole group of coins the other day, some silver bullion, some uncleaned ancients and a few lincoln cents. These two came with the group, they were the reason that I purchased the group in the first place. These two proof cents have pretty high mintages for the early proof cents, but the mintages are still very tiny. (21,100 for the 41, and 32,600 for the 42). I'm not really sure what the grades are so if you specialize in lincoln cents and want to give it a guess so right ahead. I'm just happy to have them in my collection getting my cents closer and closer to being 100% complete.
Proofs are on my list also,, at least after I get the rest of my cent collection up to the grades I want. I'd guess pr62 on the first (finger print) and pr63 on the second... both are nice.
I may like Lincolns, but I am not familiar with grading proofs. From what I can see at Heritage, those look to be somewhere in the 64 range. Nice find, BTW.
I agree with RLM, close to 64. Is that a rim problem over "pluribus" on the 42? Nice coins, will make a nice addition. Jim
1941 & 1942 Proofs GREAT find, I would guess 63+ & 64 on the last one, wish they were in my collection :headbang:
