Cursed coins

    Is this an example of one of the types?

    I think so. You can check Williams to be sure.
    Note that the earlier Phokis coinage looks similar. IMHO only the Phokis coinage from ~356 BCE to ~346 BCE is cursed. :) Earlier and later coinage is fine.

    Out of curiosity, why did your wife feel Lakshmi is an unlucky image on coins? She was extremely common on coins for probably well over a thousand years, so I'm surprised that there would be superstition/stigma there?

    I think it was just her intuition. No real reason in particular. She just felt uneasy looking at that coin, and the subsequent events kind of validated her viewpoint.

    I have to admit the Hindu Goddess looks grotesque/ big boobs/ belly button;) The Kushan Gods/ Goddesses looked much nicer:D
