Which is the better value? I know that you have seen the shelf labels at your local store where there is not only a price but the added cost per ounce or money saved.

But the '98 is more striking.

I'm with @paddyman98 the 2006 is better value! The 1998 looks like someone is still striking it every day!!

It's extremely close to fully stuck.

The one on the left is a better buy. It has damage but it also looks like a double strike.

Not the best pictures, I wouldn't want either at any price. Sorry if they belong to someone. Jim

Equal value. Both worth ten cents. Unless that 2006-D actually is silver, which I would have thought was impossible.

I think I can make some of these on my work bench with my hammer and vice. I wonder if anyone actually buy these things? I've seen all kinds of junk on Ebay that I know isn't worth anything being sold for crazy money.

Both coins are damaged coins after leaving the mint and are worth less than face value in my opinion. The 2006-D would be a clad coin The only silver ones are "S" mint coins from a silver proof set (look at the edge). Even if the 2006 is not damaged and it is a cud (can't tell with the pictures) it would be worth very little. (I would guess a few dollars at most, certainly not $50 + shipping!) If you want to buy mint errors, you need to understand the minting processes and use a good reference guide to help you. There is a lot of trash out there that people are trying to pass off as a mint error.

I'm in wonderland I wonder what kind of collector would want either. I don't believe they made a silver 2006-D in my opinion.

Oh boy, I sure hope that wasn't being sold by any of our recent newbies that watch too much boobtube.

I hope you realize that the post was a tongue-in-cheek. The OP, @Hommer, was making fun of ridiculous items for sale.

Thanks for asking. He had to slice and dice more than he thought, but pretty sure it got all of the worst parts. I still have a few spots he sent to the lab. As a kid, I spent way too much time in the sun and about the only protection was zinc oxide and usually only protected the nose, so I've got a lot of cancerous spots as a result.

Thanks, at least you’re up and about and thinking clearly. Living where you live at those higher altitudes can get to you that way. Glad you’re doing well.
