It’s doubled but it’s not the type of doubling you want. This is a form of NAV or No Added Value Doubling.

Actually I'm thinking it's it the (D)matches 001 but it's hard to tell.OP can you get more pictures of the words and date.If it is because of condition issues I'd say not worth certification. ttp://www.varietyvista.com/01b%20LC%20Doubled%20Dies%20Vol%202/1983PDDO001.htmhttp:/ /www.varietyvista.com/01b%20LC%20Doubled%20Dies%20Vol%202/DDO%201983.htm

This is a DDO. You can see that the devices are thicker, not thinner as with MD. Nice find!

I took a look at Coppercoins. This DDO doesn't seem to have the ROI that would cover getting it graded and slabbed. Additionally, you have some early stage verdigras started on that coin, so unless you paid extra to have it conserved, it might only garner a details grade/corrosion. You might be better off getting some VerdiCare on that coin and putting it into an airtite-type container. But the choice is up to you of course.

2 questions: Does it match anything listed at VV or Wexler, and what does it weigh? @Singletonsam

I’d have to think so. It’s 1983-1DO-001 on Coppercoins.

Thanks for the additional photos. It's 1983-1DO-001 in the late die stage (LDS). It's a fun find!!
