1982-D SM copper penny?

I found this penny in a coin roll and it is copper but I can't tell if it is a small date. the 8 looks like a SM, but the 2 looks like a LD. thoughts?

Looks like a small date to me don't think you have it.Can you take full pictures of the coin I think your scale is way way off.Find it hard to believe the weight is so high despite the environmental damage and wear.

 

Large all day

 

Your coin is a large date. Look how far down the 8 from the 2.

 

Ok I see it now looked to skinny to be a large date to me but that's just the corrosion effect.

 

Large date.. Not the rare 1982 D Copper Small date which only 2 have every been found.

I don't think another will ever be found so don't drive yourself crazy looking for one.

Definitely a large date.

 

If the 8 looks like a snowman, it's a good bet it's the small date, otherwise, it is the large date.

 

It kind of resembles a snowman.... (but there's no carrot)

 

Then it’s the large date.
