WOW!!! that's amazing. I dug one of those Excelsior medals, BTW. Nicely preserved. It's even one of the very few live finds I captured on video. (Dug at about 3:40. Photographed and research results at about 11:20.) Postscript: since it was a "holey", I hung that medal on my dig cap when I went to England, and it did indeed bring me luck.
Joey made some nice finds. Thanks for the post Ed. I've gotta praise Rob for doing such a great job cleaning up his dig spots and "making nice" with the "grass guardian" to help promote the metal detecting hobby.
