    Well TGIF
And as another week ends I found myself walking to to mail box to post a coin as well pick up todays mail.
I pushed my letter in the slot, and turned the key to open my box.... besides from the regular junk mail food ads, cemetery lots, and internet connections, a large fat envelope.
As I pull it out can't miss that large silver return address of none other than Lord M.
A pleasant surprise to begin the weekend to have some new specimens to mess with.
Inside a string with some large cents some with issues but a challenge to see what can be done to rid them of the green yuck.
A few other holed items a ladies pin with a Haiti silver 10 cent coin .
But what stood out was an 1877 cc holed US seated dime. Wow even with a hole it was a better date and MM.
As I put it under the loop as a variety collector everything gets a good looking over...I see something that interest me.

Well it was a 1877 cc type ll seated dime misplaced date in the denticles, Obverse 13 Reverse O later die state. First discovered by Dr. Tim Cook in December 2015 Heavy die clashing under the date as a diagnostic pup.
It also has a repunched 1 easy seen south of the primary.

Some may not appreciate a damaged coin.... I appreciate anything given to me ,esspecially when It's from a good friend. This really made my day.... and would trade the excitement of the attribution and the treasure found....
Sometimes big things come in little packages...Thanks Rob. Top of 77 in the denticales.

Cool. I didn’t have my specs on when I went through that stuff, and totally overlooked that CC mintmark! :p

(The die variety minutiae I would have overlooked in any event.)

My Grandmother graciously sat through the whole song as I played it for her at full volume. She loved me.

I was playing G.I. Joe at Fort Dix when I was introduced to some of her music. I never say a picture of her until she died and then her picture was all over the news. We continue to lose talented people. Val Kilmer did a great job in "The Doors". We just watched "The Saint" last night. His throat cancer is not helping his career. If you aren't old enough to have seen "Willow", buy it or rent it. You'll enjoy it.
Oops! I apologize for sidetracking this line.
