Another unusual coin while peeny roll searching

    I was roll searching pennies today and having very little numerous 60's and a few wheat pennies then this thing pops out. I have never seen. No date. Says Denver Mint and uncirculated. Don't know a thing about this nor if it has any value. Please let me know. Thanks.

    That is the medallion the mint seals in with a mint set. I don't believe they have been included with mint sets for a while but used to be that would be sealed in the cello with the uncirculated coins.

    The medallion was liberated from its cello when a set was broken up, and because it's the size of a cent, it got tossed into the mix for you to find. These pop-up all the time when you CRH.

    LOL. When first starting, I would have definitely questioned that also.
    A mint seal used as mentioned above, but an older one. I think there are collectors for this item and you may wish to research and see if there is a group that specializes in them. Might be worth something to a collector. Check out Token collectors too.
