My latest pickup: I went to a bank asking for halves and the teller said she didn't have any, but had some "new uncirculated nickels." I looked at them, and they are String and Sons wrapped 2005 Ocean in View Nickels. I bought 26 rolls at face. Of course, these don't carry too much of a premium anymore, but I'll used them for trade or something, or may try to sell some of them..... I love getting stuff for face. There are more rolls there as well......
too bad that it is too far to drive, or I would be tempted to get some. phew, I just saved some money.
It wouldn't hurt to pick through a few of these rolls and see if you can find some MS67s in there! It may be well worth your time.
FYI - String & Sons manufactures coin wrappers that banks, Mint contractors, armored car companies, and others use. They don't wrap coins.
It wouldn't hurt to keep a few of these rolls intact and put them away for a few years. I can only see the value going up over the years.
