Todd Pollack took the photos, and he is also who I bought the coin from. :)
Thanks for the compliments y'all, I'll reveal the grade sometime tomorrow.

Tough to tell what the luster looks like from the photo. I will go with MS65, nice coin!

I say 66, but lehigh's right, it's hard to tell luster from pics rather than in hand

    I'll guess MS64...

I actually think it looks MS65, but as mentioned, hard to tell if it has the gem luster in the pic... and I didn't want to go with the crowd!

    Sweet coin :thumb:

Got a pretty good deal on it too.

Thanks all for the compliments on the coin, and I knocked out two birds with one stone really, getting the coin from Todd, with the pictures already done. lol

I wonder what most everyone else saw to knock it down?

the fact that we are grading from a photo, albeit a great photo, that it is darn near impossible to grade luster from such.

The luster was sacrificed just a tad in this photo. (But I must say Todd still did a fantabulous job, one of the best in the business)
I think if the luster was shown a little bit better, it might have been 66's straight across the board, but since the picture doesn't show it that well, I got some 65's and even a lowball 64.... :D LOL J/K Illini, you still okay in my book. :D

If it's so near impossible, then why were 3 of us right?

If I may, answer that question for Josh, it is nothing more than a guess when you don't have the coin in hand.
You cannot say for certainty that this coin was MS66 without seeing the coin in hand. Grading from photos, is difficult to do, no matter how great the photos are. The photos could be hiding something, or they might not be showing enough of something.
I think everybody would trust their eyes over a lens. :)

So in other words, everyone's guesses were just that. There is a certain probability of getting the grade right/wrong.
