Hello everyone, I just searched through three rolls of " eBay Specials" .. you know, the ones " unsearched". Oh well, anyway.. I did find a 1909 VDB in one roll in mint condition but someone drilled two small holes on each side as if for a necklace or something. Also found one 1922 D penny, rough shape but it's still readable.

Anyway, the reason for my post is this 1928 wheat I found which is significantly smaller then a normal 1928 penny and was wondering if there is anything known about wrong planchets for this year. I find it hard to believe this is worn to the extent it actually shrunk in size since all the letters in liberty are very clearly present.

I've attached photos. the last picture is the coin in question sitting on top of a regular 1928 Wheat Penny.

check to see if it is roughly the same size as a dime. that was a trick when vending machines came out

It's been hammered along it's rims. I can see it's concave and the reverse took a lot of the buckling.

Actually, it's a dryer coin. It spent a long time going around and around.
