Greetings all! I just picked this one up and am hoping for some input on same and maybe to see some other SLQ beauties! What do you think? IMG_4782 (2).JPG IMG_4783 (2).JPG IMG_4781 (2).JPG IMG_4778 (2).JPG

    Very, very nice. I don't have a 1918 S that nice. I have a 1924 S that I like.

I think I see F15 to borderline VF20 details but am not 100% confident in my assessment.

Some deposits and stains on the reverse and typical scuffs from circulation, but not horrible. I do think the reverse spots would keep it out of my collection, but maybe they could be safely treated, and even if not, some might not find them as objectionable. And the obverse looks fine to me.

A respectable coin despite the issues.

    Yes I agree with the F15, I think that's a spot on call! thumbsup.gif

    I stand corrected.

It looks like VF25 wear to me; although the spots and circulation marks might net it down some.

I've got only 3 SL quarters, one of each variety.
    They're for my type set.

Wow! Nice coins, here's the reveal on this one - and the current holder of the slot in our collection (always looking to upgrade when we can afford it). I bought this reasonably (based on bad seller pictures) with half a hope that it might be an 1918-s / 17-s overdate, but looking under magnification in hand, I am leaning toward the conclusion that it's just got more wear on the bottom of the 8 - though I'm going to have my son take a better look (better eyesight) when he's home from college.

I think Fine would be about as far as I'd go, but I could see some TPG bumping it to Very Fine.
Here's one of mine I really like.
