While the colors on the reverse are phenomenal this one is circulated, and with the wear on it either a low AU or an XF. To top it off the coin has some pvc on the observe and no luster on that side. I have seen circulated toned examples slabbed go up to the range this one sold for, but I think with all the problems, raw and lower grade, this buyer overpaid imo. https://www.ebay.com/itm/194791765529?hash=item2d5a7e7619%3Ag%3AKxEAAOSw5qFh-vRp&nma=true&si=oCM2CRcRZyNmC%252FhJFt31v%252BE3%252FkI%253D&orig_cvip=true&nordt=true&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2557
I find the reverse pretty enough, but that obverse is hideous to the point where I'd not have gone there. I don't understand folks who will pay or bid moon money on any toning that shows color, regardless of how streaky, mottled, splotchy, or otherwise ugly it is. To me, while most attractive toning is colorful in some way, not all colorful toning is attractive. To each his own, I suppose.
And there's one other bidder who thinks the winner didn't overpay by that much, and several other bidders who disagree. I wonder how high the winner was? Erm, "willing to go"?
