It appears to have environmental damage, probably from a very old dipping that was not properly rinsed. Pass.
Depends on why you're interested in it. If it's a date or die variety that you can't get elsewhere at a price you are willing to pay, then you don't have a choice, do you? But if it's common, then you can certainly get a nice piece at almost any time. The generic 1862 is common as hen's teeth so if it's not a rare die variety or a known error then skip it.
Personally, I'd hold out currently at $55 since there's a high mintage of 1.5 million. If I were to bid, I'd max out at no more than $65. Only because it's a nicer upper grade, maybe EF?
Yes PCGS's guide puts an XF40 at $90 dollars, and the surfaces don't look good in the pics. I think a lot of stuff is selling too high these days, or maybe I just can't adjust to these new levels.
Pass. Half dimes are relatively affordable compared to "Full" dimes, until you get into the varieties. You could have a lot nicer example for not a lot more. I'd wait until you had $200-$250 and go crazy if you really want one. At the end of the day I just wouldn't be happy spending $88 on that.
