So I'm going to crack this open so I can put the coin in my holed type set. But figured I'd share the photos before I did. $1 gold mislabeled as a $10 gold, plus the year is off by a few

IDK an error of that nature might well be worth more in the error slab :D

In my opinion, that is so NGC, as I've personally experienced on more than one occasion. I agree with @mrweaseluv that someone may desire that error coin/slab. I have several with just slab errors where calls and return didn't improve matters.

It is almost the "perfect-storm" of TPG errors.

You already have images, and an auction shouldn't be too expensive?

You can always remove the coin!

  8. Here is some substandard cell pics of one of mine. Both NGC and CAC have it listed as a 1902 P.

physics-fan3.14 You got any more of them.... prooflikes?

As far as I know, error slabs of this nature don't have a premium. They are quite common, and quite easy to fix if you just let the TPG know.

Rare slab types sometimes garner a premium, but people aren't crazy enough (yet) to pay for slab errors.

Like some others, I believe there are collectors that would pay a premium for that item. Maybe, just for fun, or possibly profit, try listing it on eBay and see what strikes you get?

I bought it from ebay. lol. but it was not listed as an incorrectly labeled coin, just as what the coin was.

Now, just double the starting price and post it as a "TPG Error Special" and see what you can get. LOL

I own this one. Maybe a $200.00 coin on a good day. NGC labeled it as a three cent silver and says the value is $2900.00 on their verification page. I find it amusing so I let it stay like it is.
