First time posting, read lots of posts and looked at many photos of spooned and dryer coins. This 2007 quarter looks different from others I looked at in pictures of spooned ones. The little ridges I see in pictures I have taken of coin, go in a little from edges. I have collected lots of coins over last several years I thought might be error coins. Just now have some time to start asking. Thanks for all posts I have read and learned from. Looking forward to further light and knowledge in the future. Have a blessed day....

A BIG welcome to CT, Lady from Texas. Fred beat us all to that answer, but had you considered the minting process and how it might have gotten that way at the mint? Unless the collar was damaged, it would be difficult to happen. If it was a partial out of collar, it would have other indicators, but I can certainly see why you questioned it. Good eye and keep on lookin'.
Thanks for the CT compliment and welcome to the neighborhood. Keep up the good search glad to have you on board.
Welcome to Coin Talk. The weight can help with diagnostics of a coin sometime. It looks like the edge may have been removed which should make it a little lighter weight. Fred got it right I'm sure.
Welcome TEXAS LADY! yes, I'm not quite sure if dryer, or spooning, or maybe dipped in acid that affected the copper but not the nickel, for sure though, it didn't happen at the mint.
Dynoking posted a website reference to error reference .com & I am thrilled with info so far.... so happy I finally had time to post. CT is full of great people and knowledge!!!! Thanks again
