Stopped at a bank and asked for half dollars and they said they had $120 worth. I bought them and they were in a brinks box, wrapped with brinks wrappers. I found 7 40%ers and one 1964 90%er. I wish I could have gotten that whole box!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

At another bank, they had $80 worth of String and son wrapped 2005 P Ocean in View Nickels. I bought a few rolls and opened one and they are really banged up with bag marks and such. Several of them are not smooth at all in the field as if they had some lamination problems. Anyone see that before?

Should I go back and buy more of these? Any market for 05P S&S wrapped nickels?

I am not sure why someone would cash in silver for face value but the teller said the person knew what they had and was ok with it. I believe it was the same person who cashed in $20 worth of Lincoln cents last month. Many in plastic tubes all from the 60s, 70s and 80s and all BU coins. In any case I am happy to keep these coins from going in to circulation. Perhaps who ever turned them in was wanting them to go to someone who would keep them, as he told the teller what they were.

went through a box tonight with my girls. We only found 2 40% halves. I did find two rolls of very mint state 2005 halves. Someone must have dumped a collection of mint rolls for 2005. This find of the night was a 1986 statue of liberty half. My daughter found it and got way excited because it was so different. The thing was perfect BU before it was dumped. It looks like it got a good bruise on the sun on the reverse. No the less it is going into a 2x2 and in her book.

Thought about flowers but gave the head teller a 2009 Unc mint set and a morgan dollar, the rest of the tellers got a 2009 unc mint each. They were happy and I am more then happy. I was told to come back next thursday as they thought I might be able to pick up a few more coins the same person is bringing in. I Will be there.

Going through my first box of pennies, so far my 1970 "D" series keeps on growing, but I also came across a 69 and a 70 S the 69 looks like it has a red hue to it. Pictures to post soon.

Bought a roll of halves from my bank. Opened it up and a full roll of 64's looked right back at me. The edges were dulled but the front and backs were full of luster. 10$=135.00$ silver. Not bad at all.

Shawn, the '35 is pretty worn, but the date is completely clear. It's only the second buffalo I've found, and it's in better shape than the other one! Thanks for asking...Jeff.

    penny rolls

I searched three rolls of " unsearched" penny rolls I bought off eBay last week and I have to admit, there was some good finds in it.

The first roll had a 1950 S Roosevelt Dime and an 1857 Flying Eagle both in very good condition, not to mention a 1914 and 1915 P and D and a bunch more teens plus many 20s with S mint marks.

The most remarkable thing about the second roll was a 1909 VDB in MS condition. Sharp wheats on the reverse and crisp strike on the obverse. The only exception to the coin was that someone drilled two tiny holes through it on each side as if it were made for a bracelet or necklace. Plenty of more Teens with S mint marks in this roll too.

The third roll was the cooler, there wasn't much in it except 40s and 50s and some Indian Head Cents all but one in poor condition and a few steel pennies. Actually, a real nice 1943 S steel in MS condition I'd say.

I don't know if you guys buy those penny rolls off eBay but regardless of the thought they might be " Staged" ( I call it ) Rolls ,I seem to get some good finds in them.
As long as I can get them for under 20 bucks a piece.
