I found this one going through some of the coin I own. I think it is probabbly MD but just wanted to get some opinions because I am still new to the error coin fun. Thanks
I have the 38 D over D,"MS 65 and a fantastic (Fine) S over S (Lenght wise)"1936", edited Offers to buy, sell or trade are NOT permitted on Coin Talk - except in the Open Forum or the Auction Forum. And then only 1 such post per week. Please read the Forum rules.
It's hard to tell from the picture but I think that since the doubling on the N shows on both sides of the top part that the doublung is either MD, Longacer or die deterioration doubling. This does not look like a doubled die.
Hi All, This is die doubling on a 1935 DDR. Note the notches on some of the letters. They are easy to see especially on the "E" of FIVE even on this worn specimen. You can see the groove on the "V" as well. Those are the things to look for. There are notches visible on the other letters too, it's just easier to point them out on the "E". Have Fun, Bill
I have the same thing. I have 2 1935 DDR Buffalo nickles. This price is in the Red Book-G-4 for $40. Is that a good price? B12
Hi, It all depends on condition and if in fact it is truly a doubled die. if you can post pics of the FIVE CENTS portion of the two nickels, I can give you an idea of condition and worth. Have Fun, Bill
You can see it better in the top (first) picture. I agree with morgan and foundinrolls - take a look at the N - its doubled on both sides of the letter.. thats not a true DD, but prolly longacre or die deterioration.
Hi, There is no die doubling on either coin. There are no notches even slightly visible. Look at the pic I posted and take a closer look at the "E" of FIVE. Your coins have none of that. Have Fun, Bill
Darn! That's why I need to buy a better camera. Anyway you can see it better in person, but oh well. Thanks you guys. B12
