    This video raises the question: "How can you tell an electrotype from an original?"

    Nevermind. The NumisWiki article on Forum states: "While the obverse and reverse are near perfect copies, the weight of an electrotype is usually wrong, and the edge of an electrotype is usually obvious."

    Unfortunately, “bid first, read description later (or never)” seems to be getting increasingly common. I just love how some descriptions employ adjectives to take the edge off a coin’s defects. “Gently smoothed and lightly/lovingly tooled”, anyone? How about “trampled, shot, run over, and mutilated with a scalpel but otherwise very fine”?
