Carolus III Gold 8 Real Coin

    Good day! I found a Carolus III Gold 8 Reales Coin in my collection. I would like to have it appraised. I am very interested to know the history and information about this coin. I would appreciate any opinions, evaluation or grading. Thanks.

    I am not an expert, but I think it is a fake. It is marked 8 reales, which was the value of a silver coin. A gold coin should be marked 8 S for escudos. It has a cast appearance of poor gold ( ?) quality. Just my opinion. Welcome to the forum.

    Thanks for you comment, desertgem. Do you have any idea on the history behind this Spanish coin? I am interested to know info more about it. Any site to suggest for more reading? =)
