I had one of those (a 1681). Nice AU+, maybe UNC, but raw- I never got around to submitting it. Nice coins.
Ooh... handsome! Well, maybe not Charles VI himself. He's got a bit of that Habsburg Jaw thing goin' on, maybe. But a very handsome coin, indeed, and very exemplary of the Baroque style. Nice color. Love the eagle. Awesome.
Oh! I’ve been looking at minors with that design, for a while now! Can’t afford the full thaler, I’m sure. LOVE it! I live in Brunswick (Georgia), and on my daily commute through the Marshes of Glynn, there’s this little marsh hammock (a teeny-tiny island out in the marsh) which has a lone palm tree on it. I have affectionately dubbed it “Lone Palm Island”. So I’ve wanted a coin of this type for a while. I expect I’ll eventually get a little sister counterpart to your big beauty there.
Here's an Italian medal of Johann Friedrich, featuring the same impresa of a palm tree growing on rocks:

I completely agree with you. I just discovered in the past year and a have what an important musical cultural center Prague. So many of the most talented composers around Europe came from there. One of the most outstanding was Jan Dismas Zelenka, 1679-1745. He spent most of his creative life in Dresden. He was a contemporary of Bach, Vivaldi, Telemann, and Handel. Here is what I think is his best Mass. Hope you enjoy it.
Yes, Jethro Tull. Saw him once in concert. Still have lots of him on vinyl. Here's my current favorite flutist. A Czech performer, Jana Semeradova, performing music by a baroque Czech composer on the baroque flute. Enjoy.
