I just came across a Belgium 50 Franc, 1991, KM#168 that has an interesting Die Crack (or Broken Die) of the BELGIQUE on the reverse. The field between the crack is clear, so it was not machined. I am not normally an "error" coin collector. Any added value for this one? Advice please.
Umm, the light flare from your flash really makes it hard to tell, but I definitely see what your taking about. Is the area incuse?
That's too much of a coincidence for that to be exactly in the center of all those letters and curved accordingly.
Looking at all the other examples, I guess it was intentionally made that way. Thanks for the replies!
Sorry, but that's the way it was designed, as mentioned above. https://en.numista.com/catalogue/pieces761.html But there does appear to be something going on at the rim around eleven O'clock and coming down towards the 5. NAV even if it is a die crack, IMO.
