I have a question about the cost of this penny. Some people tell me its no worth anything but online it says it could be worth a lot of money. I am new to coin collecting and often refer to this site for help. I actually registered to this site hoping to get some answers. There is doubling on the reverse on the one but that's all i could see.
It could go for more(depends)but really it's worth whatever someone is willing to pay for it.I just said a possible price range, could be worth more or less both ways.
Search for one on eBay then you go and click on the sold items to get an idea of what people are willing to pay.
Thanks! I will check it out. Are there any other sites you recommend selling online other than eBay? I am new to selling on eBay and I have already tried being scammed multiple times. Which I know there are scammers everywhere but Im curious to know where most people are sell their coins.
I haven't done it yet but you can go to the items for sale thread here on coin talk. I believe the vast majority of people here are honest.
congrats on your find, in the condition i'm gonna say between $75-$150 range but I think the price will keep going up on these as they are getting super hard to find in the wild. I have found 3 so far but the last I found was over 4 years ago.
Selling is always problematic. I don't want to deal with e-bay either since I don't have much to sell. You can always go to a coin shop and see what they offer, or find a coin shop with a bid board.
Condition is key and I would also point out that this one has some nice toning on it. Here is a good read for you http://www.lincolncentresource.com/wideams.html
yeah, they actually don't come up for sale that often for the 1999. I'd say minimum is the $20-$30 estimate, someone selling on ebay with no history or feedback, likely though at least $50 and I think eric6794 is more in line with the value range of $75-$150, it's not severely stained, I don't see much spotting, plating looks intact, nothing severe or bad really going on. it's probably going to be red/brown at this point though. Pictures could be better. might be split plating on the and yeah, MS68 red, probably a $4000 coin, your coin ain't that though. I found many 1998s, and many 2000s. never the 1999, or the 1992 CAM. Congrats. the really low value ones are the 1998 and 2000. like $5 or so. the 1999, I've seen at Heritage Auctions before. personally if I found one, no way would I sell it. it's a hard one to find, not as hard as the 1992 CAM but much harder than the 1998 or 2000.
