The Lincoln Cents Whitman album that I ordered from Amazon finally came in today, I was so excited! When I opened the box I was surprised to find an album with "Lincoln Cents" printed nicely on the front and "Kennedy Half Dollars" printed beautifully down the spline. Doh! Back it goes. =(

Anybody seen a misprint like that before?

    It's a collectors item. You, know...an ERROR.

Hopefully you really didn't send it back yet. With many companies items, errors can actually be more valuable than you think. For example with Whitman, there have been some Red Books with a missing page and one with an upside down page. Those usually sell for about 10 times a normal edition of the same date. With that Album you purchased, it too may someday be worth a lot more than a standard, normal, every day album.
If it was me I'd keep that one. Would even be fun to show dealers.

No doubt, it is with out question an error.

  7. I have absolutely no interest in it but you might want to put it up on ebay. TC

Great. Now I gotta keep an eye out for album errors, too! That's cool!

Gotta be worth thousands. You have just discovered a new collectible niche -- error albums.

Ah heck for the 2-3 bucks it cost, you should keep it. Hell, I'll buy it from you!

David Lange of NGC collects the old coin boards and has some interest in other albums I believe. He would probably like it.

If you had a good sence of humor you might want to check other web sites, Whitman web site of even coin stores for individual pages for the Whitman Albums. Then purposely buy some pages for the Buffalo Nickel or Mercury Dimes and put them in that Folder. If that Album Cover is made for the Lincoln Cent it should be big enough for both the Buffalo Nickels and Mercury Dimes. So now you have an Album with Cents on the front, Halves on the side, pages for Nickels and Dimes.
Would be fun to show people anyway.
